Chapter 12
Three days later my arm was feeling a lot better and we hadn’t heard anything from Tony. Maybe he actually realised I don’t love him and I don’t want to be a vampire. Somehow I doubt it. Patch and I had got up that morning, got dressed, went to the shop and were now lying on my bed.
“Where do you want to go today?” Patch asked while rolling over to face me.
“I don’t know” I replied.
“The beach? We could go swimming or I could teach you how to surf?”
“That sounds good” I kissed him and he pinned me down to the bed with his arms. He kissed me on the neck and made his way up to my chin and then back to my lips. He let go of my hands and I grabbed his hips, pulling him on top of me. I placed my hands on his chest and pulled off his shirt while patch slid his hands up my shirt. That was when I heard a voice that shocked me…
“God in heaven” My mother shrieked. Patch and I looked up to find my mother at the doorway.
“Mom?” How the hell was I going to explain this to her? Patch pulled away from me allowing me to sit up. He grabbed my hand.
It’s ok. She’s just in shock. We can tell her together. Patch thought.
Thank you. I thought back.
“I… I’m going downstairs and I want you down in 5 minutes. Understand?” My mother said in a high pitched voice. I nodded and she walked out of the room. My breath became short and quick as I became more worried of what I was going to say to her.
“It’s ok” Patch whispered “Just breath. We will get through this, I promise. Just breathe in and out” I did as Patch said and felt better. “Now. Let’s go downstairs and talk to her” I hesitated but then I nodded slowly.
Patch and I walked down the stairs hand in hand and we walked into the kitchen where my mother and father sat. He squeezed my hand as we sat down. I couldn’t move or speak so patch did instead.
“Hello, I’m patch.” He held out his other hand to my mother and she took it, shaking his hand. Then he did the same to my father.
“Hello patch, I’m Emma and this is my husband Gerard” My mother replied.
“Hello” My father said “So I hear you’ve been kissing my daughter” I went bright red.
“DAD!” I exclaimed my eyes widening.
“It’s alright Cassandra” Patch whispered. “You heard right sir, I love your daughter”
“I see. You are a very formal young man”
“Thank you sir” He replied
“So… were we interrupting something?” I smiled and looked at patch who was smiling too.
“No” I said finally
“We should all go out for dinner tonight” My mother suggested.
“I agree” My father replied. Patch and I nodded. “We will find somewhere and I’ll call you when we know which place”
“Thank you” Patch replied
“We have to go so we will see you at around six maybe” I hugged my mother and father before they left the summer house. My eyes were closed and I was breathing in. I felt patch’s lips on mine, they were soft and soothing. He removed them and I opened my eyes.
“Thank you” I whispered while kissing him. We brushed our lips until he kissed me again passionately. I felt someone’s eyes on me so I broke off. My mum and dad were still sat in the car watching us and smiling. I bit my lip and laughed.
“Just pretend they aren’t there because I’m not finished kissing you” I put my arms around his neck and kissed him. “Let’s go inside” Patch whispered. We walked inside and shut the door. I giggled to myself. “Beach?” Patch said. I nodded and ran upstairs to get my bikini on...
