MOONLIGHT DARKNESS CHAPTER 6

Chapter 6
I woke to a low beeping noise, like an alarm. Quietly, I sat up and moved away from Matthew. I knew he was still asleep; he looked so tired earlier, so I didn’t want to wake him. He looked so peaceful and sweet.
Now, where was that beeping coming from? I looked up and standing over the sealed hole, where Matthew and I got in, was Alonzo. How did he get in? He beckoned me with his finger, but I shook my head. Alonzo walked quietly to the side of my bed and grabbed the collar of my shirt. His face was inches away from mine.
“Come or he dies” He whispered and pulled a knife out from his belt. No, this cannot happen.
“Please” I whispered. “Don’t hurt him”
“Come with me and I don’t have to” I nodded and he dragged me away from Matthew.
We were about a metre away from the hole when he fell. I screamed as his blood made a stream across the floor. Matthew stood behind him.
“Are you ok?” Matthew asked.
“I’m fine”
“Next time he says come with me or he dies, choose to let me die please. I really couldn’t stand to see you hurt”
“Next time? And no I will never choose to let you die”
“Yes you will. He’s not dead you know” I would never let him die for me “We can’t stay here, follow me” He climbed down the stairs and I followed after him. People stood around us. “Not more damn fallen angels” He stood thinking for a second before ordering me to stand in front of him. Matthew wrapped his arms around me and suddenly blue light glowed around our skin. Wow.
“That’s not even fair. All we want is the girl then we will be on our way” One of the fallen angels said with a vicious smile that made me want to scream. Matthew continued to hold me tight, I knew he would never let me go. “Even if we have to drag you to hell, we will get her and we will make her scream so loud you will want to kill yourself”
“You will never get her” Matthew hissed.
“Watch us” That was it… They just disappeared… All of them, every last one. Matthew didn’t move, he held on to me tightly. I think he was afraid that they might come back.
“Are we safe?” I whispered
“I don’t think so. Not here, don’t move away from me”
“What do we do now?”
“I need to get you out of here, but we need to make sure we aren’t followed. Stay very still I’m going to let go of you slowly, I want you to turn around” I nodded and he let go of me, I turned around to face him. Oh my god! I gasped. Matthew’s tall muscular body stood in front of me. Wings that must have grown from his back towered over him. They were a brilliant white and they were coated with hundreds of feathers. I saw Matthew like I never had before…
“You look…. Beautiful” I whispered.
“Thank you. You look gorgeous” He pulled me to his chest, before closing his wings around us. “Nothing can get through”
“Wow” We were inches away from each other . Face to face. Our lips connected in seconds and I felt safe. Nothing could get to us and I had Matthew. He would always protect me...
Once we had kissed he unwrapped his wings from around us and I turned to find we were somewhere different.
“Where are we?” I whispered.
“My house. Well one of my houses. I have 13” I raised my eyebrows. 13 houses? What did he do with them all? “They aren’t all in this country. There’s is 5 in America, 2 in England, 1 in Australia, 1 in Mexico, 1 in France, 1 in Norway, 1 in Denmark and 1 in Switzerland”
“Wow. So which one are we in?” I asked.
“England” Oh brilliant. I loved England. I giggled and his wings wrapped around us again. We kissed again.
“Will you have to leave me once the fallen angels go?”
“I won’t ever leave you. Even when the fallen angels go you will still need protecting” I giggled
“Will you age like I do?”
“That’s one thing I forgot to mention. This may be a little hard to understand right now, but you won’t age” I gasped. This meant that we can be with each other “The only way you can die is if someone actually kills you or you kill yourself”
“I won’t age? And you won’t age?”
“We won’t age”
“So we can be with each other forever?”
“If that’s what you want” He replied.
“Isn’t that what you want?” I asked. Maybe I had only assumed. Did he want to be with me forever?
“Of course it’s what I want. I want you and if I get you forever I will be the happiest person alive” I kissed him softly and smiled. Matthew put his lips to my ear “I love you” He whispered. I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him tightly.
"I love you too" I whispered back...
