Without stating the obvious, it is most likely that you would have heard or seen or perhaps even aided the current revolution. Yes, revolution, not a minuscule clashing of different cultures or oil war. This is a war that people are fighting for their right to live, speak, vote, they are fighting for their future. And yet failing, people being slaughtered as they get some bread, kids massacred in broad day light as they play. These people are ruled in a dictatorship bent on staying powerful, and this dictatorship will go to almost any lengths to purge the people. "The government should fear its people, not the other way round", that said it is funny how many countries remarkably fail at this. First Tunisia, then Egypt, Libya and now Syria. If you were asked what you did, would you say that you stood by and watched. Watched people maimed, tortured, killed. Too often that is the case, but when you see these distressing pictures, this injustice, do you not feel some sort of empathy? Some sort of rage? Because after all we are all human and this is a humane disaster. Human to human, do you think it's fair that we live and they die. Is if fair that we ignore, would we want to be ignored if it were us. So of you feel some rage, some helplessness, the feeling that you want to help but have not the means to do so. Then across all social media use #humanetohumane , put aside our desires and look at others. We may not wield guns but we have words, and after all what are we using right now?

@Gouladin yes, writing a Facebook comment or a tweet will not do it. I don't think the Syrian government or the Syrian rebels will put down arms because I asked them to.
