No more Roses at their feet,
No more the soldiers thirst to quench.
For we are tired of the torture,
We are tired of this cities stench.
So many souls have fallen for our cause,
It is time for you to listen,
And for the constant bloodshed to be paused.
They took away our dignity,
In poverty we were second,
And the silent protests of our youth,
Were met with torturers that beckoned.
Our indignity plastered on every wall,
Our plight on each reporters lips.
But not a moment on a newsreel,
Would help to solve our solemn wish.
The world is numb to our human rights,
The west just sit and nod in sympathy.
To watch from afar the Arab plight
For our land just seems an asset,
And the people seem to you, just scum.
Do onto others as you wish to be done?
Listen to the Bombs that fall,
The bullets ricochet,
The empty broken streets,
Where our children once did play.
Listen to the crying of a mothers broken heart,
Listen to the ripping flesh as another child is blown apart.
For these are sounds of your freedom not the sound of ours.
The sound of our sacrifice
As you drive in ignorance your luxury cars
Your attempts at our salvation,
Tools supplied to assist us in our plight?
Look around you canβt you see,
We have fought our bloody fight.
We need not your tanks, or your aircraft,
Or for us to make your daily news.
We need to heal our broken land,
To mend our childrenβs skewed and tragic view.
For unless we give our children the hope of change,
And remove this mask of terror from their sodden face.
This fight of justice, peace and equality
Will be forever fought within this place.
Come forward all you peacemakers,
The so-called leaders of Free Speech.
Come forward all you sons of God,
And put in action what you Preach.
