The Clockmaker

His heart goes tick,
His mind goes tock.
He started thinking
Like a clock.
Fixing things
Night and day.
Machines must work
To get their pay.
Wind him up,
Watch him go.
He'll do what you say,
But his gears turn slow.
A broken machine
Is what he is.
A toy to play with
For little kids.
He's turned into a clock,
The kind that he'll fix.
Now all he hears is
The tick, tock, ticks.
