A struggle for life, To live, to survive. Every ragged breath, Decreases chance to stay alive. Too many gasps, A fish starved of water. Written off for certain death, A cow; bred for slaughter.
This is an analogy I suppose. I'm not sure who the "You" is. As likely as not he's as much me as the Me is.

In the fires of defeat we are reborn again, Like a meditational, painful, kind of Zen. We lost this battle but not the war, But on the side of victory you can't see what I saw.
