real eyes realize real lies

once you look at someone for the first time,
it's either a revolting glare or a carefree smile.
then as the months pass by,
you see things
and hear things.
and you either avoid them or try and befriend them.
you say things
and mean things.
you still don't really know that person no matter how many times you've hung out.
maybe it was all fake and pretend, maybe they truly did have those things in common with you.
you write things,
and publish things.
finally when something's happened with you guys,
whether its good or bad, it affects your relationship.
and looking into their eyes seems like the hardest thing in the world.
you regret things
and remember things.
and you can never look at that person the same, ever again.
