Chapter 5: An Unexpected Present

"Alice!"
"Annie!"
Annie ran in to the room and gave me a big hug. We hadn't seen each other for more then a two weeks now. She had gone on a holiday to Italy and had just come back yesterday at ten O'clock with a tan and a lot of shopping bags.
Annie was quite the opposite to me but we were still the best of friends. Here's a description of her; Well her hairs is long, blonde and wavy, her favourite colour is pink, her eyes are an astonishing blue and she just adores shopping.
"Alice what are you doing here? Wait tell me upstairs. I've got something for you."
She grabbed my hand and pulled me up the stairs in to her room. Her room was pink all over. Her walls were pink, her duvet was pink and guess what colour her pillows were? PINK!!!! All the pink made me dizzy.
" Um wow Annie I don't remember your room being quite so pink. Did you repaint it?" I asked the seconded I steeped into the room.
"What? Oh yeah and I got some new curtains too. Not another colour or anything just a brighter shade of pink."
"Of coarse"
"Oh and look look I got these dangly metal things for my door. My dads going to hang them up as soon as he gets home." she exclaimed.
"Great." ( That was the only word that I could think of but really I was horrified. )
We sat on her bed and she took a bag out from under her bed. As she was fixing her hair I looked out the window and saw something small coming towards us. At the last second I noticed what it was and pushed Annie to the floor a long with myself.
The glass smashed and Annie screamed right in to my ear. I slowly got up carefully shaking out the shards of glass in my hair. Annie was still huddled up in a ball on the ground shivering. "Annie your ok you can get up now. Annie come on." She wouldn't budge.
I looked at the stone on the bed. There was something tied on to it. A note tied on with a piece of string. I picked up the stone and untied the string. I heard footsteps running up the stairs so I stuck the note in my jumper pocket and dropped the stone back on to the bed. Annie's mum ran in to the room and looked at the window then the stone. She then knelt down to her daughter, took a deep breath and said very calmly " Annie its all right. Honey it's ok everything is just fine. Come on up you get. Sweetie your fine perfectly fine. It's ok now."
Annie slowly uncurled herself sobbing silently.
Sandra looked up at me.
"Oh my Alice are you all right? Your bleeding all over!"
I hadn't noticed until she said it. My face, arms and legs where covered with little scrapes and pieces of glass. If only I hadn't taken of my coat ( the glass wouldn't have bean able to penetrate the thick material ).
