Frozen Petals Chapter 1

Hi my names Alice, I'm 14. I live on an island called Soliger. It's only small so there's a few shops and pubs and cafes, for main stuff we walk across the bridge to Loch-Fell to get food and stuff we need.
I go to School Brunley Soliger. Me and Lexi are BFFs so we play with each other all the time.
My Mum goes to work and so does my Stepdad, my dad died when I was 2 months, so I don't remember him. I never liked my stepdad, ever since my mum met him I thought he was bad.......I was wrong.
It was Saturday and mum and Dallas (My stepdad) were working. So I was sitting on the beach sucking an ice lolly with Lexi.
'What d'ya wanna do tomorrow?' Lexi asked me.
'I dunno, what do u suggest?' I replied still sucking my lolly.
'I heard there's this new cinema open in Lock-Fell,' Lock-Fell was the other massive island next to Soliger. It was 10 times bigger. I was about to open my mouth to ask her something but she answered it for me.
'We could see....' she paused,'We could see, Explorers of the dark world!'
That was the biggest film of all time!! And it was on offer tomorrow!! Half price!!
'Defiantly,' I agreed
'Tomorrow at 1,' she told me as we walked over to the bin and threw our lolly sticks in.
We arranged to meet at the big tree to arrange what time to meet tomorrow, in about 15 minutes. We walked past it and Lexi climbed up it and said she'd wait there.
I just needed to tell my mum to put my tea in the oven and go to the big tree.

I walked home and normally you can smell my mums cooking.....but u couldn't this time. What was going on?......
