My Future Life #1

Part 1

As I forced on my shoes I heard Daisy's alarm go off. 6 o'clock. I grabbed my bag and walked out of my room. Jogging into the lounge, I grabbed a hair tie and tied my hair in a plait. I then heard Daisy moving around and go into the bathroom. I carried on into the kitchen and put on some toast. I packed some of my books and folders and clicked the bag together.
The loud noise of the toaster made me jump. I got down a plate and buttered the toast. I ate it quickly and went to the mirror. My hazel eyes stared back at me.
"Watch it! You don't wanna make it crack!" Laughed Daisy walking through her bedroom door
"That's hilarious." I say sarcastically and go back into the kitchen.
"You know I'm joking," I hear her reply from the lounge "can you put some toast on for me?"
"Sure," I said doing it and then going over to my bag and searching for my keys "what time did the man say to come and collect the dogs?"
"About…" she paused coming back into the kitchen "two…ish, cos we both have no lessons as our day finishes early so I agreed on two."
I watched her butter her toast and then go into the lounge to eat it. I looked at the clock on the wall, 6:30. I decided to finish some homework that was due tomorrow.

"Ellie?" Daisy called disturbing my thoughts
"Yeah?" I replied back
"Aren't you meant to be leaving now? It's 8: 30!"
"Shit!" I shouted, quickly packing everything up and shoving it on the shelf. I grabbed my keys and slung my bag on my shoulder. "I was meant to leave twenty minutes ago! But thanks for telling me, bye!"
I hurried out the door and ran to my car. I unlocked it and threw my bag on the passenger seat. I started the engine and drove off down the road. My college started at 9 o'clock and I worked out that it takes me fifty minutes to get there. This is my first day and I wanted to make a good impression.

After ages of driving, I indicated left and sped down the road just under the speed limit. At the red lights I stopped and thought about nothing. Just general nothing. The lights then turned green and I turned right going down a narrow road and then turned into the school car park. I had just made it. I cut the engine and ran through the doors with a large group of people. They looked about 17, same as me. A slim but tall looking girl, with long brown hair and fake eyelashes walked over to me.
"Hi, I see you only just made it in time." She said smiling
"Yeah, only just!" I sighed smiling back "I'm Ellie."
"Yasmin, first day too?"
"Yeah, it feels like year 7 all over again!"
We both talked as we walked into the warm building. We were given our timetables and a school map. My timetable consisted of: Photography,
Wood tech, Art and Textiles and then the usual subjects.
I want to be an interior designer so I'm hoping I'll get the grades.

I walked along the corridor with Yasmin looking for the correct Art room, 3B4.
"Ellie, this is it!" Yasmin says tugging my shoulder. She knocks on the door.
"Are we late?" I ask
"Hope not." Yasmin replies.
A short lady comes to the door. She has short black hair and dark brown eyes.
"What do you want?" She asks sounding bored and tired
"We're in your class, sorry if we're late…" I apologise. She shrugs and tells us to sit at the front where there are two spare seats next to a boy, who was sitting alone. We go over and un-packed the things we needed. When Miss had gone out of the room I turned myself to the boy.
"I'm Ellie," I introduced "this is Yasmin…" I see Yasmin give a little wave
"George." He smiled. He had turquoise eyes and dark blonde hair.
"How come you were alone, until we sat down?" Yasmin asked
"I know no one here, all of my friends went to different colleges but I only got in to this one."
"I don't know that many people here either, I only know a few girls but I don't talk to them much but I've just met Yas," I replied "you can hang around with us, if you like?"
"Ellie Badger!" I jumped at the sound of the teachers voice calling my name. "I have asked three times for quiet, will you please shut up!"
I tried to hide my smile "Yes miss, sorry."
"Ok… on page forty-two and forty-three you will find information on…" the teacher carried on.
At the end of Art, I had Photography then Textiles and after that it was lunch and I had a free period until the end of the day. Daisy's number appeared on my phone.
"Hi." I said walking over to my car and putting my bag on the roof
"Hey, where should we meet?" She asked
"Umm, there's a cafe half way between us called… 'the Blue Moon' we could meet there for lunch?" I suggested eventually finding my keys and unlocking the car
"Sure, see you there, bye. " she ended the call.

I turn on the engine and headed out the school gates, onto the main road. After ten minutes, I stopped at red lights. The sun was shining and burning my skin so I opened the window.
"Ellie?" A voice called
I turned my head and saw Josh staring at me in the next car "Josh!" I replied shocked, "meet me round the corner in Tesco's car park." I ordered and drove off. Daisy had broken up with Josh a few months back but he had kept sending her texts. Daisy would be so annoyed if she knew he was here.
Once I had parked my car, I got out and looked around for Josh. I noticed him filling up his car with petrol.

I stormed over there. "Josh!"
He jumped but turned round. "Ellie…" he began
"No, you listen here!" I shouted at him "do you know how much pain you caused Daisy?!"
"Well…yeah…" he stammered
"No, why would you? You slept with someone else!" I could feel my blood rushing to my head.
Josh looked blankly at me. "I'm sorry for what I did, but I just wanna see her…" he faded off and went back to filling his car with petrol. I sighed and got out my phone, I dialled Daisy's number and waited for her to pick up.
"Hello, Ellie where are you?" Daisy's spoke through the phone
"Umm… just getting petrol…" I answered stuttering "Uh… I'm…"
"You okay?" Daisy interrupted "you sound bothered?"
"Yeah… I'm-I'm fine, just telling you I'll be a bit late… from getting petrol." I lied biting my lip.
"Ok, bye then." She said and I ended the call.
"Just go home Josh, go home." I said going over to my car. I unlocked it and started the engine. I gave Josh one last glare and drove off.

I parked the car and walked into the cafe, Daisy wasn't there yet so I ordered a hot chocolate and sat down to wait. Daisy then appeared with a tall boy behind her. He had dark blonde hair and blue eyes. He smiled as he noticed me. I looked at Daisy who smiled and came over and sat opposite me, with the boy following her.
"Hey." She says as she sat down
"Hi…" I say looking at the boy next to Daisy
"Hi! I'm Casper the friendly ghost according to Daisy!" He smiles and we shake hands.
"She is funny!" I say half sarcastically
"Yeah… so how was your first day?" Daisy asks
"Yeah it's great, I met Yasmin and George, they're great." How about you?"
"Yeah its amazing, really happy about it all! I met no one interesting though." She smirked nudging Casper
"Hehe," I laughed "You ready to go? It's nearly two."
Daisy looked confused "Oh My God, I forgot, the dogs!!"
Casper jumped at Daisy's outburst and fell off his chair.
"Ohh, hahaha!" Me and Daisy both laughed
"We need to go now though or we'll be late!" I said controlling my laughing
"Right, we'll follow you." Daisy said as we all got up and walked out, I threw the people at the counter a fiver for the hot chocolate and quickly caught up with Casper and Daisy.
"See ya guys there!" I smiled as I got in my car. I checked they were ready and we drove off down the road, ready to get the puppies.
