The world lusts after me
(But into temptation I shall not fall)
It washes over me unceasingly
(But I have firm roots under all)
They claw at me desperately
(But I slowly fight them back)
Tearing at my heart and mind
(Their limbs get tougher to hack)
Clinging to every fiber of me
(I'm weighted slowly down)
Victory they're begging to claim
(As I gently float to the ground)
Screeching and cackling
(While I weep in my soul)
They devour all my morals
(I am no longer whole)
They crush me into the their spacious lair
(While I try to pray to the sky)
They snatch each prayer from my wailing mouth
(And I gradually cease to cry)
They're foul; they're demons
(Though so like me, it seems)
They live lives of horror
(Appealing to me)
I give in and let go
(They've darkened my shine)
Now I am theirs
(And they, mine)
