Being offended by something or someone does not mean you are a helpless victim of some sort of travesty or grave injustice. It means that you have read or heard something that you don't agree with and are simply complaining about it, badly.
Being offended does not grant you any kind of moral super power and no, you are not in the right just because you are offended. You have simply taken this offence, the key word here being 'taken'.
Some would argue that their feelings have been hurt by these offences they themselves have taken. Hurt is a feeling. How can hurt be hurt exactly?. Again, why would you take something you didn't want and then let it hurt you?.
Then you get the kind of people who apparently like to take offence, let the offence they have taken hurt their hurt and then say that they are doing this on behalf of someone else, someone they don't know usually, for reasons which they believe are noble and honourable but in reality are not.
