It's not like you're a stranger.
We're friends, pretty good!
But when I saw you, there, today...
I got a change of mood!
Dressed in a crisp, grey suit.
Neck wrapped in a pink silk tie.
I couldn't help but, shamefully,
Let out a dreamy sigh.
Your brown eyes locked on mine,
Your eyebrows raised a meter.
"Whew, it's sure hot in here.
Did someone boost the heater?"
My friend poked me, grinning.
"You like him," she smirked.
"I don't," I said triumphantly.
You stared, and my heart jerked.
My cheeks gave the lie away.
I sighed, in pure defeat.
And choked back another gasp,
As our eyes again did meet.
"What happened?" I asked myself.
"We were friends just yesterday!
And yeah, I've been gone for three weeks...
But is this really okay?
I've got feelings for my friend!
He doesn't even know...
Oh, how I wish my bright pink cheeks
Would find a way to not show!"
And you just kept on looking.
At your crazy friend, with awe.
As she found herself in no control
Of her ever dropping jaw.
