Well...This Is New - 24

I had great difficulty in getting my socks off. They were almost frozen to my feet.
"We need to get you to the emergency room," Paul growled.
"Paul, I'm fine," I laughed, wincing a bit as I tried to pry off one of my socks.
"Aaaaaaaaah," I moaned as I finally got one off.
My foot was swollen and bright red, but nothing really that serious.
"Em, that's gonna really hurt if you don't get your feet warm."
I rolled my eyes, pulling at the other sock, biting my lip from pain.
"I have a second pair of wool socks," Sally offered.
"Get them, NOW," Paul ordered, watching me trying to rip my sock off my foot.
"So we can be alone," Paul added, smiling mischievously at me.
I widened my eyes at him, my hands freezing from trying to take off my sock.
"I'm kidding," Paul smirked.
I decided to ignore him.
"Owwwww," I moaned, finally getting the other sock off. Both my feet were red, but other than that, I really actually wasn't that cold.
Sally handed me her second pair of socks, but I couldn't get them on. My feet refused.
Sally had to help me, and I hated feeling like a baby, but I had no choice.
"Aaaaaaah!" I cried, as the first sock was forced onto my foot.
"You sound like you're dying," Paul commented, watching me carefully.
"I'm fine, Paul," I grit my teeth as I tried to pull on the second sock.
Finally, both of them were on.
I tried to get up, but it hurt. Good thing the ping pong table was nearby. I grabbed it for support.
"Do you need help?" Sally asked, watching me.
"I can do it," I panted, taking a gentle step forward. It hurt, but it was bearable.
"What was your favorite part?" Paul asked, leaning against the wall of his garage.
"I dunno," I said, shrugging.
"I think I know what Em's was," Sally smirked at me.
"Hush," I whispered, smirking back.
Paul watched us with interest, but said nothing.
"You guys want hot chocolate?" He asked.
"Yes please," Sally and I both said.
He left the garage.
Sally began putting her wet things on the rack.
"What do you think my favorite part was?" I whispered, grinning at her.
She leaned close, checking to see if Paul was around.
"When he tackled you. Over. And over. And over. And over."
I giggled, and she giggled, too.
"You're right," I whispered,
She grinned. "I knew it."

Writing is my life. Forever. I want to be an author when I grow up. I write all the time. When I'm happy, sad, angry...it's an escape. Oh, and I love green hearts. I absolutely love them.
