I hear the dreaded clink of chains,
And it sinks my heart in deep..
For long have I endured pains,
Of idleness in heap..
No more than a prison is indolence,
Where solemness befriends me..
I endure it all with tolerance,
Only freedom is my plea..
I'd read a mountain-full of books,
To ponder on the whats and whys..
I am pursued by cynical looks,
Of people and hues and cries..
Why the sun burns brightly?
Why the moon does glow?
Why the stars twinkle ever so slightly?
Why do the winds blow?
I look around at such production,
And humbleness fills my heart..
For the creator and a genius inception,
When there was nothing with to start..
A life gifted to learn what we can,
And To use it with benevolence..
Each alike, woman and man,
Let us not live in ignorance..
A learning urge now lives in me,
That holds me captive strong..
It makes my idlenesses flee,
That lived inside me long..
