#household - door knob
His hand hovered above the door knob,
Unsure of what to do.
Should he leave all he'd ever loved,
Break out and start a new?
Or could he fix what he'd just broken,
The heart of that young girl,
Who now sobbed behind him,
Her mind lost in a whirl.
She'd never once betrayed him,
She'd loved him with her all,
And she hadn't seen it coming,
Never guessed that trust would fall.
But the things he'd just admitted,
The disloyalty and lies.
Had cut her to the core,
He could see that in her eyes.
To see the pain he'd caused,
Was more than he could stand.
So with his mind made up,
He moved his hovering hand.
It gripped onto the door knob,
And with one final look...
He turned the wretched knob,
And out the door he snook.
Little did he know though,
The power of that sever.
For it took her fragile heart,
And broke it for forever.
