In these days of spin, message optimisation and controlled communication,
Whose version of the truth can be trusted?
Understanding the agenda of the communicators is more important than the messages they produce.
The age of innocence has passed.
Was I naive or was life more honest?
The unpalatable truth is hidden to preserve power, status or reputation.
News stories dumbed down to fit "an audience".
Individuals created or destroyed at the behest of shareholders.
If it looks too good to be true,
If it looks too bad to be real,
Question the motive.
Unfortunately we may have to live with moderated free speech,
But we must train our minds to think about the story behind the story.

That's so true. There's always a reason a certain story, has a certain feel to it. The media can make murder feel good, and saving lives feel bad, so easily.
