Hell Or High Water

Night sapphires,
Day emeralds,
In between worlds
Reaching for diamonds,
Embedded with rhinestones,
Ruins of rubies & jewels,
Crushed into glittering dust,
Tarnished crown
laying in stardust on the ground,
Walking down the road of a ghost town,
Fires burning in the distance,
Setting the night on fire,
Ash & burning embers
falling from the gray hazy sky,
Blanketing the stars in smoke,
Shards of sparkling light reflecting off the flames, crunching under my feet,
The ashes on my tongue taste sweet,
Empty streets,
crumbling over the grounds surface,
My home, this ghost town,
Burning under the flames kiss,
Through the trees,
A tidal wave of disaster,
Putting out the fires,
embers sizzling on my skin,
Live wires under the water,
Surviving but how much farther?
