As the day flitters on,
I look at your grave,
A good dog,
The dog that behaved,
I miss your bark,
I miss your play,
I miss you every single day,
I hold your old collar,
I hold it tight,
Wishing you were by my side in this stormy night,
I remember the summer,
I first got you,
So young and wild,
I still love you,
I want to feel your fur,
Your wet nose,
See the mud on your paws,
Oh, I miss you girl,
Your ball you play with,
The bone you chewed,
The dog bowls and food,
They haven't even moved,
I've lost my best friend,
There will never be another dog like you,you see,
You were the perfect dog,
The first one I knew,
I will always remember you,
But as I sit on the porch,
I remember your last day,
The pain you were in,
All your suffering,
That was the worst day
I cried as I drove you to the vet,
I knew what had to be done,
You had to leave my side,
During the gloomy winter night,
I will remember you for forever,
Time will pass,
I will remember the summer you hurt your back,
The summer that didn't last,
In the winter I lost you,
But remember puppy I will never stop loving you,
And even though your not a puppy,
You'll always be one to me,
The one that stayed by my side,
The one who protected me,
I love you little one,
I sure will miss you though,
The fist dog I had,
But you will never be forgotten though,
