The rising of old Suns, blazing in the vespertine sky,
Thorough my window, burst wide
Brings back a thousand sensations I have not felt
Since before I last saw your tall, dark figure
Disappearing into the smoke of the city.
In the bask of the sunlight
Which pours - like honey -
Into the dark crevices of my room.
We kiss: this is
The meeting of two that have parted
For a thousand rotations of the earth
And a thousand dawns of day,
And everything makes sense once more.
I am at one with mother colour
In the blinding light that fills us
With the energy we have longed for
And the zest, the spirit, the soul
We needed to carry on.
I know this wont last,
And that soon, you will slip away
And leave this place,
And leave me, stood here in my nightdress,
Curls tumbling down my shoulders
Pearly tears pricking my eyes,
As you always do.
It's just how it works.

Fleeting as a bird, you looked at me.
