A first love
Created that spark
We wanted to be rebels
And leave our mark
We'd walk like we were one
Hand in hand
We were worlds apart
Parents didn't understand
You were the bad boy
I was too good
I couldn't wait for tomorrow
But I knew you would
Music was your first love
Art was mine
We'd talk for hours
Lost track of time
We shared everything
Experienced it all
You took what you shouldn't
And I watched you fall
I picked you back up
No longer a drowning man
Pride in your life
Was now your plan
I'd wait for you
By the bus stop
Even if you were late
I knew you'd never drop
Winters early snow
Octobers chilling breeze
We'd walk the streets at night
Then kiss under the moonlit trees
I still remember those
Cold winter nights
New Years Day playing on your stereo
Even now it ignites
Exploring each other
Like teenagers do
You told me you loved me
But I already knew
Words of passion
Fuelled by desire
We created our first
Unforgettable fire
Title inspiration from one of my favourite songs. The poem also contains many other titles from a group that influenced my teenage years.
