They released me
To avenge my love
A divine angel
Sent from the heavens above
In the beautiful garden
Overgrown with spite
I stood in the centre
Alabaster white
Once this place was beautiful
A paradise of passion
A garden full of colour
Now derelict and ashen
It was here I spied my love
Secretly with another
He cursed my jealous rage
My unrequited lover
But now I am free
To say my true goodbye
My beauty is deceptive
I have revenge in my eye
When I found him
He was no longer mine
He was happy with another
A child of nine
The girl saw me
And caught my eye
To her I was just a fairy
Just passing by
She smiled at me
And waved her hand
I kept on walking
Not as I had planned
I had not the heart
To curse another
I had not the rage
A family to smother
And so I return
To an angel of stone
A statue now at peace
No longer skin and bone
My garden once again
Is a paradise of love
I stand at the centre
Watching down from above.
