(Hiding Place)

It started with the cupboard under the stairs;
That was pretty safe for a few good years.
But as you grew and hide and seek you did play
The cupboard under the stairs, is where you would stray.

Then... we used the shed, you never went in there;
It was easy, all the gifts were hid without a care.

Not only were they wrapped and out of sight;
It was even easier to deliver on Christmas night.

No noise, or crashing in the hall, from the cupboard under the stairs;
But easy transportation from the shed to the tree over there.

But independence has loomed, and now you use the sheds;
To retrieve your bike or scooter, or to plant seeds in the veggie beds.

So this year I am at a loss, as to where to hide the gifts;
The brand new bike is in the neighbours garage, lets hope he won't go for a sniff.

What's worse is the grandparents this weekend are due;
They normally deliver a huge black bag or two.

So... I need a new super secret hiding place;
Just like the room of requirement, to keep out his nosey wee face.

So Harry Potter fans, please give me the spell;
To create a hidden room in this house that I dwell.

Brings back memories of my brother and I searching everywhere for prezzies. Mam used to hide them in the same place each year, she still does 20 years later. She'll never learn.

πŸ˜‚ Got busted once when I was about 11. Oh did I cop it! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

@eddie12309 brilliant! Feel free to hide them up here in snowy Aberdeenshire, not sure I'll be willing to give them back though! :-)

You need to really need it. Stand in front of your kitchen wall and wish, hard, you never know, it might work! πŸ˜„πŸ˜½

@blindsilence haha. I think he's on to me. Desperately trying to keep the magic alive. πŸ‘

@leelee101 oh dear. πŸ˜‚β˜•evening.

@rhona good idea. I'll send them up with my sister in law. 😜

@crowncottage I shall try that in Saturday, when the in laws arrive- I think I'll really need it. πŸ˜‚πŸ’š

@eddie12309 brill! I'll be waiting, does she need chimney access or is she just going to ring the bell?! ;-)

@rhona chimney if she's had too many vodkas but otherwise bell. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜˜

@eddie12309 I'll be prepared either way! Now, where's my DIY chimney kit.....

We still put ours in the adjoining garage on the house - even though the boys go in there to get scooters / wellies, etc. they don't ever notice the boxes and bags! πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Mind you, they aren't too obvious, as they don't get wrapped until Christmas Eve usually - we have a marathon wrapping sesh that lasts ages that night! What about in the bottom of your wardrobe??!

@MrsS haha!!!! It's full of boots. πŸ‘’πŸ‘’

@RichWithey great idea- you got a spade? πŸ˜‚

@eddie12309 How did I know you'd say that!? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ‘

@MrsS tee hee. I think I'll have to put them all in kindly neighbours garage. I couldn't cope with wrapping Xmas eve. Way too much stress. πŸ™†πŸŽ
