Love is all around, but how does it look?
Can we picture it in our mind?
Is it the look upon your soul mates face
As it changes over time?
The first time a mother gazes upon her newborn child;
Or the fathers delight, smitten and beguiled.
When a lover still holds his partners dying hand;
When HIV wasn't part of their plan.
See the silhouetted swans, beak to beak;
Creating the perfect heart, now cheek to cheek.
Is it when a husband gently kisses, his wife's tender head;
Where once was her beautiful hair, but now its shed.
See the dog adopt a kitten, and sit by the fire so warm;
Staring into each others eyes full of trust and charm.
See the soldier, the father, return from tour;
Run to his children, a love so pure.
A faithful old dog, head in your lap;
Stays by your side, on that last eternal nap.
Love is all around us, but how does it look,
Can we see it through unbiased eyes?
Just look a little harder at our natural world;
You'll be in for a nice surprise.
