Titanium

There were four of us in the Land Cruiser parked on a small ledge over looking Creek Lane High. David, Sky, Palmour, and myself, each of us not daring to speak.
The building looked the same as ever, brick walls, white windowsills, banners advertising the basketball team. The school itself, however, was abandoned. Not a single soul had dared enter through it's doors since the mysterious disappearance of a certain boy named Kyle Reese. Two weeks after he went missing, an explosion nearly destroyed the entire school and Kyle was seen standing amidst the rubble looking terrifyingly smug. Police surrounded him on all sides and he some how managed to slip away yet again...but we believed we had finally found him.
"Well, I say we get to it." David broke the silence and unbuckled his seat belt. In the rear view mirror I saw Palmour close her vivid green eyes and whisper a prayer. I knew she was devastated over Kyle's disappearance as she had been especially close to him before he vanished. The two of them had been somewhat of a celebrity couple at school, she was a gorgeous cheerleader and he was a popular jock. He had broken up with her the day before he went missing.
I offered her my sympathy with a gentle hand on her shoulder as we hopped out of the car. Sky opened the trunk and stared solemnly down at it's contents. Machine guns.
"Let's do this." he said grimly.
We each loaded a gun and made our way towards the abandoned school.
