Chapter 14

"What do you mean by 'Your boyfriend'?"
"Well he was my boyfriend. He broke up with me thirty minutes ago! Now I see why."
We stare at each other for a long while. Connor comes back.
"Hey babe I --," he pauses and looks at Cassie. She crosses her arms and looks at him angrily.
"Oh. Hey Cassie. I can explain!"
"You broke up with me for this ugly thing!"
My jaw drops. That was rude.
"Excuse me?" I ask real seriously.
"Yeah you heard me!"
"She is not ugly! She's way hotter than you!"
Cassie frowns.
"Well then."
She turns towards me.
"You will be sorry. Watch your back!"
She storms off.
We watch her go away in disbelief.
The next slow song comes on and we grab each others hands and sway from side to side.
"Sorry about Cassie," he says.
"It's okay, but did you really break up with her for me?"
"Well, um, yeah."
I look at him a little disappointed.
"I was going to break up with her anyways."
"Ohhh."
We dance until the slow song is over.
"Do you think that Cassie will do anything to me? Just curious," I ask trying to sound normal rather than scared.
"No..."
"Okay. Thanks."
We walk over to the couches and take a seat.
"I'm thirsty," I tell him.
"Oh. You should really go get yourself a drink."
I frown. Well then. I get up and
Start walking over.
"Wait!" he shouts from behind.
I turn around and try not to look annoyed.
"Get me one too."
"What a gentleman," I mutter quietly as I walk away.
I go over to the punch bowl and pour two cups of punch. I start to walk away with it when suddenly someone hits the cup and it pours out all over me. I gasp. I look up to see who spilled it. I'm not surprised to see Cassie.
"Oops," se says sarcastically. Everyone around me is laughing including her. I start to cry a little. I run over to the door and leave. I run home crying. Tears started rolling down my cheeks. I go up to my door and run straight upstairs.
This can't be happening.
