Chapter 30

I saw Cassie and Josh holding hands and walking around the mall. I came to the mall so I could get away from drama, not run into it.
"Ashley! Keep walking!" I whisper loud and clear.
We speed walk away. I think I heard someone say my name but I'm going to ignore it at the current moment. I hear footsteps behind me and I run faster. It's not Ashley because she's in front of me. The person catches up to me and taps my shoulder. Please don't be Josh. Please don't be Josh. I turn around and it's just my brother.
"Hey Emma. Is everything okay?"
"Yup. Me and Ashley were just going to do some shopping."
"Okay well we'll leave when the mall closes. I called mom and she knows we're here."
"Okay. Thanks. Bye!"
I turn around and catch up to Ashley.
"It was just my brother," I say with a sigh of relief.
"Ohhhh. Ok."
We step onto the escalator and look around.
Ashley squeals really loud and then waves to someone. I look over and try to spot out who she is all excited about.
It's just Ryan and Nick. I wave at them too, even though I'm not really friends with Nick. They both wave right back at me.
Ashley is jumping around waiting to get off the escalator. When the person in front of us gets off, Ashley darts off and immediately runs over to Ryan and Nick. She hugs Ryan and smiles at Nick. I walk over. This is going to be very awkward. I say hi to Ryan and the mumble hi to Nick. He mumbles hi right back at me.
Me and Nick just stare at each other while Ryan and Ashley chat. Can this get anymore awkward? Ashley turns towards me and smiles.
"Do you guys want to go shop or something?" Ashley suggests.
"Yeah. Sure," we all agree.
We walk around and look for a shop to go in. Ashley squeals, yet again, when she sees Abercrombie and Fitch. She runs over and goes inside. The rest of us just walk. We enter and Ryan goes to find Ashley. The music is blasting and it's seriously dark. You can hardly even see or hear anything! I turn and walk into the girls isle. The boys isle is right across except part of it is separated by a wall. If you go back a little further the girls isle is continued. Overall the store is pretty small. I go over to the rack of skirts and look for one. They're on sale. I guess it's because it's getting cold and no one really wears skirt at this time of the year. I grab a blue one with pink flowers off the rack. Its really pretty and I have enough money so I'm gonna buy it. I walk to the check out counter and wait in line. I look to my side and see Nick looking for some shirts.
"Next in line please," the cashier grumbles.
I look over and realize that it's my turn. I step up and put my skirt on the table.
"That will be $18.67."
I take out my wallet and grab the exact amount.
She puts it in the cash register and prints out a receipt.
I take it and go over and take a seat on one of the couches. I glance at Nick. Now all I have to do is wait. Someone comes up and taps my shoulder.
"Hey, Emma."
I look up and it's Nick.
"Um. Yes?"
"Which shirt?"
He holds up to shirts. One is a plaid, red, shirt and the other is a plain green one. I get up and take the shirts.
"Here. Let me help you."
I walk into the guy section and look around for a moment. I think that blue is more his color. I look around and find a long sleeve blue shirt. It has buttons up and down it and one pocket on the left side.
"Here take this one."
He grabs it and looks up at me.
"Okay."
He walks I've to the counter to check out. I can't stop looking at Nick. He's just so good looking! I guess I like him too.
He has brown hair kinda like flow but not brushed to the side and pretty brown eyes. He's pretty tall too.
I just can't stop looking at him! I guess I like two people at the same time.
