Chapter 3
Liam
The Baker's let me get settled into my new house for two days. I have to go to school today though. I hate having to start at a new school. No matter how many schools I go to, it's never any easier. I hear a knock on my door but I don't answer it. Whoever it is can go away. I need more sleep. It's six in the morning. I don't have to be at school until seven thirty. I heard a male voice then footsteps outside my door receded. I let out a sigh and buried my head in my pillow. The Baker's seem nice but Mrs. Baker seems a little overprotective. Mr. Baker seems really cool though. He plays the drums in the basement. Their basement has a pool table, foosball table, darts, hockey table, weight set, guitars, and drums. It was the most impressive room I've ever seen. Their house is one of the most impressive houses I've ever seen. It's almost the size of a mansion. I like it here. Mrs. Baker is a very good cook. It think she published her own cook book.
I hadn't realized I had fallen asleep until I heard soft knocking. I'm a light sleeper so I can basically hear anything.
"Liam? You need to be at school soon." Mrs. Baker's soft voice came from the door.
"I'm up." I groggily called.
"I have breakfast made if you want some." She said then walked away. I rolled out of bed and threw a shirt on. I glanced in the mirror and ran a hand through my hair. I'm blessed with good looking hair. I have a slight fade so it's a little longer on the top. I never need to brush it. It falls so it looks like I styled it messily. I glanced at the clock and it was six fifty. I put my jeans and Sperry's on and ran downstairs. Mrs. Baker had already made my plate. I crammed all the food down my throat in one minute flat. Who cares about manners when you're going to be late for school?
"James! We're leaving for school!" Mrs. Baker yelled. James busted through the kitchen door.
"I'm ready!" He said out of breath. He was probably the nerdiest kid I have ever met. He had the big spectacles with his white button up shirt. To make it worse, he tucked it in his jeans. I felt slightly protective of him though. I know that he's my age but I bet he gets picked on a lot.
James showed me around school but I knew where to go by second period. The school wasn't hard to find my way around. I have chemistry third period. I walked in a few minutes late. I walked to the teachers desk and handed him my schedule.
"Very well. Take a seat next to Ms. Wilson." Mr. Newberry said and pointed to a girl in the back. She was the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. She had shoulder length blonde hair with big green eyes. Her full pink lips were in a slight frown. She was probably agitated that I had to be her partner. I took my seat next to her without another word. Mr. Newberry went on with his lesson but I couldn't pay attention. The girl sitting next to me kept distracting me. She was taking notes on what the teacher was saying. She could have been waving her perfume under my nose though. She smelt like candy. She bumped into my arm when she was writing.
"Sorry." Her angelic voice said.
"It's okay." I whispered back. She glanced at me from under her long eyelashes. Her mascara made them the darkest black and the longest they could get.
The bell rang and we both jumped. She stuffed all her papers in her bag and stood up to leave. A tall guy with spiked black hair walked up to her and put an arm around her. He smirked at me and I just smiled back. That made him slightly angry and he glared at me. It didn't scare me though. The girl looked back at me and smiled a little. I smiled back at her and stood up too. I went the rest of the day thinking about her. I didn't have her in any other classes. That was the only time I saw her.
Kayla
We had a new student today. Mr. Newberry decided to sit him beside me. The only thing he did the entire period was fidget with his pen. He didn't take any notes or anything. I didn't do any better though. With him sitting beside me, I couldn't concentrate on what the teacher was saying. All I could do was smell his cologne and think about how muscular he looked. He had short brown hair that was longer on the top. It was messy and made we want to run my hands through it. His bright blue eyes were staring at me the entire class. He started to make me nervous. I accidentally bumped into him. I said sorry and when he spoke, I thought I was going to faint. His deep rumbling voice made goosebumps spread across my skin.
I didn't want to stare at him but he was very good looking. At the first look I didn't see anything but an ordinary guy, then I looked again. He was really hot, with confidence but he didn't look cocky. He just didn't look nervous. I really liked that about him. I know I would've been nervous as hell being a new kid at school. He was definitely confident, even if he did stare at me the whole class period. I don't even know his name.
Michael
I really didn't care about the new kid, until I saw the way he looked at Kayla. He was practically drooling on the way to sit beside her. Does he think he can come in and steal her away from me? He better watch out if he thinks he has a shot with her. I also saw the way Kayla looked at him at the end of class. She glanced up and him and they just stared at each other. Does she not think I didn't notice? She still has a boyfriend. I'm glad the bell rang when it did. I would have ripped that guys fucking face off. Who does he think he is?
I saw the guy stare after Kayla in lunch. I walked up to her and lifted her off the ground and spun her around. She started squealing and I laughed. I glanced behind me and that kid was watching. I'm going to show him who she belongs to. I kissed her full on the mouth in front of everyone. She pulled back and looked at me crazily.
"Why are you so excited?" She asked with a smile.
"I'm just in a good mood." I lied.
"I can tell. Want to do something after school?"
"I would love to, but I can't today. I already promised someone that I would hang with them." I said and her face automatically fell. Oh well. She can find someone else to do something with while I'm with Liz.
