Easy Lies

Once you said I want you,
I believed you.

Once you said I love you,
I said me too.

You told me everything
I needed to hear.

You became my everything
With the sweet nothings whispered in my ear.

But then I caught you with her.
I bet you told her the same things.

I hope you're happy with her.
Who knew we were no strings?

Was it easy for you?
Was it easy to spout the lies?

I believed in you.
I just can't believe my eyes.

It must be nice to lie like you do.
They seem like such easy lies.

I wish I could lie like you do.
Because then I could tell you the same ones.

You would believe me when I say,
I want you.
I love you.
You're my everything.

But those are just lies, aren't they?
