Clouds of summer,
Butterflies flutter,
their wings to the sound of my heart.
Their colors show despise,
But I see it in their eyes,
They notice that we're falling apart.
And my brain it just shivers,
Cause it knows that last winter,
I swore I'd never hurt you again.
And I sware I'm afraid,
But my mouth says her name,
She and I can only stay friends.
I grabbed her and told her,
That note in my folder,
Her love, it brought me back to place.
She teared up and listened,
her eyes with that glisten,
That tear just rolled down her face.
I told her, "I'll be back."
She said, "I don't believe that."
I kissed her and I looked into her eyes.
I swore that I love her,
She just called me her brother,
At that moment I noticed her lies.
I stared and just chuckled,
Her name, I just muffled,
The fear that I saw in her eyes.
I noticed she played me,
The games they were fading,
My sadness was her only prize.
I stood tall and told her,
"you see this? My shoulder.
It's tired of carrying lies.
As A fool, I'll go on,
Consider me gone,
I was stupid to once call you mine."
She sat down and stared,
'till I wasn't there,
I now hear that she wants me back.
I once was her soldier,
Now our love's just a blur,
Broken hearts hurt more than the facts.
