His daily lip service braces her ears,
she knows the truth but can't face her fears.
So many promises he has spoken,
he hasn't even noticed her heart is broken.
The closeness they once shared has gone,
has she been the recipient of his games all along.
Was anything ever as it had once seemed,
crumbling is the future of which she'd dreamed.
She must find the strength to say goodbye,
happiness with him she now knows is just a lie.
A selfish game of love he has played,
her only question now, is why should she stay.
