Seems to me that love that lasts long
Is a love thats been fought for but I may be wrong
People I know that fought hard to be together
Stay so strong through stormy weather
Yet couples I know who just dated and marry
All seem to split up with lots of pain to carry
Maybe not true of every husband and wife
Just going on the couples I know in my life
My true love I've waited and fought for so long
And I know it's a love that's always going to be strong
