Forbidden Love ( Chapter 14)

When I got home that evening, my dad was stood at the door with his hands on his hips. He tutted and queried, " Where on earth were you?"
" Well... Um... Today I went out to Warick castle with Matt." I smiled, unsure of how he was going to take it. I was then surprised by what my father said next.
" Well as long as you had a good time, that's all that matters." I was shocked. I thought that I was going to get an earful. But no. Just a ' as long as you had a good time'. It was very strange.

Lunch was very nice (as usual). We talked and talked. Then my happiness drained away. I was hoping that my dad wouldn't see the ring on my finger. I hid it well but sadly I forgot about it.
" What's that on your finger Holly?" he asked, abruptly. His eyes lit up suddenly. He rose from his chair and stormed out of the room. My mum squealed with delight. At least she thought it was good news. I knew this was going to be tough...
