Love

A child was once concieved,
It started off extremely small
The child was full of hope and faith
And the power to conquer all

The child was simple to the eye,
But beautiful all the same
Deep down it was a complex thing,
The parents couldn't find a name

The child had eyes of crystal blue,
A heart so pure, hair so gold
The child had skin milky white,
It's cheeks were red and bold

It grew up and brought joy to the world,
It brought hope and peace as well
It created a similtaneous smile
And made heavens from hells

But once the joy had left,
Things were not the same
Everyone was sad,
Everyone felt pain

This creature had the power,
To give life and then destroy it
This creature had a parachute;
But often forgot to deploy it

It could make you whole,
Or break your soul in two
It could sew you up,
Or inject lies into all that was true

The parents were distraught
But they had seen this before
They knew exactly what this was;
And they decided to explore

They knew of one more thing,
On our whole entire earth
That could cause peace and pain
That could cause death and birth

At once the parents clicked,
They had finally found a name
They were simply overjoyed,
They sat the child down to say:

We know just what you are, child
We know just what you do
We've found it out for real, now
You were meant for something true
Theres one more thing we know of
That works in the same way;
Breeds creation and destruction,
At the same time, every day
You must choose to use your powers,
But use them for the good
You must choose to mend the sorry hearts,
And brighten up the mood
Be the change the world needs to see
Join us all together as one
You know just what you have to do;
You know we love you, son
After searching all our lives,
We know just what to call you
We've finally found the perfect name
It's the only thing that works like you do
Child, you are our gift
A present from above
We know just what you are now;
Child, your new name is Love.
