When you touch me,
planets in sweet collision, *
quietly violent. *
When you hold me,
bullets in conversation, *
violently quiet.
When you know me,
poetry in ecstatic creation,
intricately simple.
When you kiss me,
neutrons in beautiful fission,
uncontrollably stable.
When you love me,
stars in angelic supernova,
nakedly elemental.
When you marry me,
stallions in oceanic stampede,
courageously gentle.
When you leave me,
souls in jagged razorlight,
severed whole,
intimately alone.
*the three asterisked lines humbly borrowed from Louisiana by Underworld (Barking album)
