Dwindling was the spark that first set fire to my heart
Like tinder in the blaring sun, my thoughts were set aflame
Something clicked right from the start, turned out to be a game
Dwindling were the words we spoke, so meaningful at first
Everything uttered fully felt as I listened to what was told
I took it in, the best, the worst, to you my heart was sold
Dwindling are those memories, all rainy days I recall
Except that time sat on that
field, friends abandoned in the sun
It took no time for me to fall, I thought you were the one
Dwindling are these feelings now, so deep they were before
Withering in the summer heat
Rain rising from the ground.
I once believed in something more, but that I never found.
