The roads don't come with signposts
The streets aren't paved with gold
The shops aren't always open
Despite what we've been told
Remember roads aren't endless
Try a new one if you dare
They'll all lead you to something
Sometime, someone, somewhere
A road can seem so boring
If just walked in the night
Look a little closer
And you'll find it's full of light
You know the road leads somewhere
Many hurdles on the way
Look out for diversions
There'll be a toll to pay
Check the road for traffic
Each and every day
If it's too busy, take a moment
And then be on your way
Just remember it's your road
And you've owned it for a while
There may not be streetlamps
But you can light it with your smile...
