The next day when we awoke we got ready straight away and was out of the house for 7am. Beth still looked a little sad, but I knew what would cheer her up. We leaped into Dom's Land-rover and we were off! Dom hit the motorway and soon we arrived at Ikea-still singing along to Capital Fm. I grabbed a trolley and gently rammed it into Beth, she grinned and shoved it back into me, this carried on for ages until Dom said,
"Ok ladies, that's enough now." he said jokingly. We smiled at him, then gave each other evil faces behind his back. We laughed and went ahead into the store. Inside my pocket I had a small list of things to buy it read:
•Light shade
•Cushions
•Mirror
•Bedding
•Jewelry stand
Well I guess it wasn't exactly small, because all these furnishings would cost quite a bit-but I'd bought £200 pounds in cash and I had more on my credit card-just in case. You could say I was well prepared. I read Beth my list out but didn't mention the jewelry stand-that was a surprise! She picked up a light shade and gave it a look over,
"This is nice!" it was a pink, purple and PLAIN light-shade! It just wouldn't do!
"No this is!" I said picking up a pink chandelier. It was made out pure, glass and was extremely pretty. She smiled and saw the price tag-£20. She couldn't let Claire spend that much on her! I saw her face and said,
"Do you like it? Just tell me and be honest. Do you like it? Would you want it?" I questioned.
"Yes... But..." she said.
"No but's-your having it!" I said placing the box inside the trolley. Dom and Beth gaped at me.
"What?" I said, walking ahead.
Soon Beth spotted some cushions and ran over to them, picking them up and squeezing them until eventually she found a nice, floral one. Again it was pink and had a velvety flower pattern on it with a cream background. They were gorgeous-so soft and fluffy...
"How many cushions do you want?" I asked.
"Three?" Beth said.
"Whatever!" I beamed at her and she put one of the pink, floral cushions in the trolley, then went and picked up another cushion. This one was the same but bigger, she put one in the trolley and stood wondering what to do for a minute before picking up another small pink, floral cushion. We all walked forward and saw some bedding, we came to a stop as Beth looked around. She saw a cover she liked and picked up a cushion to see if they looked good together. They went together fantastically. The bedding was a slightly lighter colour than the cushions and the exact same design-they looked great together! I said that she could have two duvet covers and she placed two of the same pattern in the trolley. Dom pointed ahead,
"Mirrors!" he grinned and we rushed over to them. Beth spotted a big, wavy wall mirror and asked if I liked it,
"I love it," I replied
"Remember you need two-one for the wall and one for your dressing table."
"Ok." she smiled and attempted to pick up the mirror. Dom saw her struggling and rushed to help her before she dropped it. It was now in the trolley. Dom spotted a nice little stand-up mirror which would be perfect for the dressing table and ushered Beth towards it.
"It's lovely," she said
"Will you help me lift it?" Dom picked it up and soon we had another item in the trolley! We headed over to the checkout and purchased the furnishings. It came to a total of £109-I handed over the cash and pushed the trolley over to Dom's Land-rover. He opened it and we begin to unload all Beth's furnishings into the boot. Soon all of it was locked safely away in the boot, I took the trolley back and jumped in the Land-rover where Dom and Beth were already waiting. I quickly fastened my seat belt and Dom hit the road to Meadowhall, which was the big shopping centre near us. We arrived and parked up near Boots, we entered and saw Hollister. Beth loved Hollister. She had no money, so I gave her £50 and told her to buy some new clothes, she nodded and headed towards it. Me and Dom took the route to H. Samuels.
"Can I just ask why are we coming in here?" Dom said, puzzled.
"To get Beth something," I smiled going over to the jewelry stand section.
"Which one?"
"That one?" Dom said pointing to one in a frilly, pink dress with tiny diamonds and pearls sewn into it. It was £20. But it was gorgeous. I picked up the box and carefully held it in my arms. Just then I spotted someone with a Pandora bag...
Beth had a Pandora bracelet! I grinned,
"Claire? What are you grinning at?" Dom asked I shook my head, payed for the jewelry stand and rushed over to Pandora.
"Why are we coming here?" Dom questioned.
"To get Beth a charm-what shall we get her?" I smiled. Dom gaped at me, but soon snapped back to reality.
"Look at this!" I went to look. It was a dog from 101 Dalmatians-Beth's favourite film. It was £65 but if it made Beth smile it was worth it. I soon had a little Pandora bag with a very special gift in it...
We went back up to Hollister then to find Beth outside with a big Hollister bag.
"Hi!" I said walking up to her.
"Claire! You've been ages! Where've you been?" she asked.
"No where." I said grinning. Beth looked at me suspiciously then showed me her new top and jeans. The top was an orange polo shirt with the Hollister logo in the top corner and the jeans were just plain with the logo on the back pocket.
"Their real nice!" I said smiling. Beth had started to look happy again. I turned around to tell Dom to hurry up-just to find he wasn't there...
