I remember when we met again.
We both had changed,
And nothing was the same.
I remember when I got a text from you.
You had been in the hospital,
But all you said to me was, "it's a long story."
I remember when I stopped texting you,
Because you never responded.
And I thought I was annoying you.
I remember when we texted everyday
Beginning with good morning,
And ending with goodnight.
I remember when you left.
We were forced to part ways,
But you kept on stealing glances until you disappeared.
I remember when we would talk, long into the night,
About everything and nothing,
and where we might be someday.
I remember when you let it slip
That you had written something about me,
But you refused to show me.
I remember when you told me,
How difficult your life was,
And I tried to console you.
I remember when you asked me
The questions no else would ask,
And you accepted my answers.
I remember when your every remark
Brought a smile to my face,
And you said I laughed too easily.
I remember when we first met.
You singled me out,
And I wondered why you noticed me.
I remember what my life was like,
Before you came along,
And it was boring.
