It had been 3 days since Zaya left us. I was in pieces. We had already buried her.
"Peeta, what's the point in life when one day you die?" I ask, Peeta comes and sits next to me throwing a apple into the air countless times,
"Well... That's a hard one. My point in life, you" normal a gesture like this would make me gag, only Peeta could talk to me like this.
"But seriously?" I repeat
"I'm not sure.. You live for what you want to live for." Even though Peeta's sixteen, he speaks like a 1000 year old. So wise!
"I guess." I say shrugging and resting my head over Peeta's heart. My warm spot.
"Imogen?"
"Yeah?"
"You need to let her go. I know it will be hard but we can start a new life. Together"
"I know. I want a life with you, I really do but she-she was my life" I stammer tears welling up in my eyes once again. Peeta wiped a warm tear away from my cheek.
"Don't worry, we'll get through it. Together" he says resting his chin on top of my head. I runs my plait through his fingers constant times until I find my eyes starting to shut.
"Just close your eyes
The sun is going down
You'll be alright
No one can hurt you now
Come morning light
You and I'll be safe and sound" sings Peeta gently to me. He hums the rest of it. I take his soft hand,
"Our song" I say as I fall asleep. Peeta still singing and playing with my plait.

I wake up with a jolt and find that my head does that thing when you sit up to fast! I sniff the air around me and smell the familiar smell of nuts. I walk over to Peeta who's in the kitchen toasting an odd looking piece of food on a small flame.
"Look what I found!" he says excitedly like a toddler who found a rock.
"Wow Peeta!" I say sarcastically, he rolls his eyes and rolls the food in his hand,
"Time to test the taste!" he says licking his lips.
"Whoa, you do know that's a lightning nut.. Right?"
"Umm a what?" he says placing the nut on the table.
"The lightning nut. Kills in an instant, lightning fast" I smiled and throw the nut on the floor stepping on it. A small wisp of white smoke slithers away from it.
"Oh.... Could of told me sooner" he jokes pulling me onto his lap. I kiss him on the nose and stand back up walking up stairs and into my room. I snatch up our weapons and my bag.
"Come on" I say pulling Peeta away from the little stool and handing him his spear.
"We have enough food for the week. Where are we going?" he asks
"Well not hunting. Look Peeta I've been thinking... You said capturers don't kill for a few days, on holiday"
"Yeah and?"
"They killed Zaya. It was a sign for you. If you don't come back they're gonna kill everyone you love Peeta. Including me" it was true. Why else would they break their laws and kill someone?
"Yeah but why are we going out?" he says after a long silence.
"To find Jack."
