(Sorry its kinda short!)
Chapter 2: Why oh why?
••••••••••••••••*
It had been five days since my grand reveal. I regret it so much.
Callum hasn't spoken to me, and to be honest I haven't tried to make any type of conversation with him.
"Crescent you need to talk to him sooner or later." snaps Iz,
"You know I can't!" I protest irritated at my own doing.
"Fine, but it will just get worse.." I run it over it my mind, maybe I should just tell him that I was kidding? No, that's a lie! God help me!
"Ok, I'll talk to him." I sigh defeated, a huge smile erupts on every one of my friend's faces. I take a quick glance over at Callum and his group of friends. He's not smiling, or laughing, the little area around him seems to have turns grey and dull.
"Go on then!" Says Ella pushing me to stand up,
"Not here. All his friends will just snigger at me."
"Hmm true. Ok I'll get him to meet you at the cove in... Ten minutes!" smiles Ella.
"Oh good idea, ok good luck!" I pat her on the back and run off to the girls toilets to make myself look presentable. Just to let you know, the cove is a small cove next to the local beach, only a minutes walk away. I don't mind missing my lunch break.
When I finally get to the bathroom it's totally empty. Great! I rush to the mirror and apply sone fresh mascara and my favourite smokey grey eyeliner. I comb my hair making it longer and straighter. Ok that's good. I run back through the door and rush to the cove.
The cove is deserted as usual. I stand under it, it over looks the small beach, the waves lap lazily at the sand which makes me feel all sleepy.
"Crescent!" whisper/shouts Ella running towards me. All the other girls are close behind her.
"Well?" I ask impatiently.
"He's on his way, we'll be at the beach if you need us! Good luck hun!" whispers Iris. They run off to the beach at the perfect time. I sit down on a huge rock that's attached to the cove wall. I sit there fiddling with my thumbs, until I hear footsteps approaching me,
"Hi." Says Callum's smooth velet voice next to me. My throat has gone all dry and sticky so I take a few huge gulps which help!
"What did you want Crescent?" he asks sitting next to me. Are shoulders touch and I shuffle slightly away from him.
"I wanted to apologise." I look straight into his eyes,
"What for?" he asks confused
"You know.... Saying I liked you."
"Oh, why?"
"Well, it's probably really embarrassing having some un-popular weirdo liking you."
"Not really. It's quite nice to know that people don't think I'm a stuck up spoilt kid."
"Well..." I start knowing that all my friends do.
"Don't start." he laughs.
"Ok... So if you didn't care, why didn't you speak to me?"
"For the greater good!" he says dramatically throwing his hands in the air, which makes me laugh a little.
"Not really. I thought you hated me"
"Nope, I did it for you. If I talked to you all my other "friends" would bully you... Even more than usual"
"Oh... That's ok then!" wait more than usual!
There's an awkward silence for awhile, I'm still fiddling with my thumbs which have gone cold and numb now.
"Look Crescent... What you said in art and how you 'have a major crush on me' " my cheeks burn red and I hold my face in my cold hands,
"Hmm?" Callum pulls my hands away from my face and keeps them in his, our eyes meet and hold each others stare intensely.
"I'm glad you said that... No guy would find out that much about a girl unless he likes her."
"What?"
"Crescent. Ever since you've started year nine. I've loved you."
Well that's unexpected.
Callum's face moves closer to mine until our lips meet, fitting together perfectly. His arms are wrapped around my waist tightly but gently, mine are wrapped around his neck, my fingers unwitting with his sandy hair.
All I have to say,
This is pretty perfect.
