Ramadhan Mubarak

It was my first day of fasting today
I felt as if though I slept the whole day away
Even though I should have used my time wisely to pray.

Time to ask for forgiveness
God as my witness
I seek guidance
I hear nothing but silence

I know the month of Ramadhan is sacred
In a world full of hatred
I hope one day we all learn to live in peace

I started fasting from 3.09AM till 9.21PM
It was a quiet day, no madness or mayhem

Another 29 days to go
I feel as if though time will drag on and go so slow
May God give me strength to do so
The strength to keep each fast
Not knowing when each breath will be my last
Give me guidance to not stray from the straight path
