I wandered through my torment the sand between my toes.
Away from all my brothers, I thought-away from all my foes!
But as I fasted and the minutes turned to hours, and the hours into days,
The reason for my journey, vanished in the molten haze
My thoughts became as brush, swept up by a desert breeze
The torment that was haunting me, had brought me to my knees
The never ending whispers as enticing as they were
Could not stay there inside my head, though my loyalties were stirred.
All the things that I could be and all the things that I could do
Always returning to my Father with the endless love I have for you.
For forty days my faith was tested but it was never foiled
And every doubt he tried to sow, lay sterile on that baron soil
And when I awoke and I prevailed from the temptation of my soul
I vowed to bring my Fathers love to all those the Devil stole.
