Attraction

I find attracting other human beings to want to talk to me extremely hard. Most people look through me as if I don't exist. Some may smile or say hi, but nobody ever says anything more to me.
Females are a grand example of this.

This hotel has a small town with a lot of clubs that make for a decent nightlife. That means there are a lot of young, party people around the premises.
There are more than a few attractive girls around, and only a few lads. Me being one of them (albeit I am too young to go out drinking with them, but age gap isn't huge). All these girls are attracted to a group of 3 lads. Yes, they're good looking, but by the way they dress and the way they act, they seem like a bunch of scene followers.
Are attractive girls these days appealed to by only the bland, same as everybody else, people?
Do people like me, who don't like to fit in with the rest of the crowd, not appeal to girls? To get attention, would I have to become the very person I hate? Would I have to dress the same as every other teenage lad in the world to get a beautiful girl to talk to me?
If so, I'm destined for a life of only wishing and not having a chance with girls.
