...that life doesn't end at high school. That you'll have the world to look forward to once you're done. That the earth-shattering problems you have today will be the funny dinner party stories of tomorrow. They tell you not to worry.
But how can I not? How can I look beyond all my supposedly futile problems and smile to the future? How can even be hopeful to the future if I still find it a challenge picturing it ever coming into fruition? How does one put aside their troublesome past and blindly predict greatness in their future? I call that masochism. Just setting yourself up for yet another disappointment. Another movie-type breakdown in your car as the rain pours outside and you listen to sad music wondering, 'is this it?'
Well you set yourself up for it.
No one told you to... hope.
