Dear God I need some sleep
Please take my thoughts
They are yours to keep
Dear God sleep was once a friend
That has abandoned me
Will no sleep be my end?
Dear God just close my eyes
Switch off my mind
Lead me to sleepy skies
Dear God please show me how
To dream dreams
In sleepy heaven now

Writing has been my friend since a teenager...I laugh, cry, think, pretend, smile as I do it. I feel that I communicate better through my writing as in person I can appear a tad scatty.
The lack of sleep is puzzling me, The bags under my eyes are bursting at the seams. Night and day is slowly becoming the same thing, Slowly but surely my mind and body is changing.
There are days when I can't hear a sound. except my own sad story. Twisted thoughts. thrown around. in a state of constant purgatory. I had plans-still do-. searching for my own. moment of glory.
Sad feelings related. Topics rarely debated. Hearts feeling dejected. Hopeless head infected. Passion pleads for protection. The deeds to my affection. My keys to inject wisdom. With just one wish.
My lack of sleep leaves me in complete despair, It makes my mind feel as though its in need of repair.
~ It's 4am and I'm still avoiding sleep, so I wrote this poem.
Sleep please take me Take me away Away to a place Far from the fray. The fray of life Of life so hard So hard, a lonely Broken shard.
