When her eyes first set upon him
Instant attraction was about to begin
He had to be hers, and she was to be his
Never had she ever felt like this
For a couple of months it was sweet
Then he began to disappear each week
Lying in bed she would wait for a call
Into his lies and deceit she would fall
After a while her life was all about him
The light within her went from bright to dim
She couldn't eat and sleep, cried all the time
She tried to blot him out aided by wine
Walking between sanity and crazy
Time for her was dark, deep and hazy
Into the pit of unhappiness she did go
As her dependence upon him would grow
Happiness had not been a friend she knew anymore
So grounded down, his ways she chose to ignore
Then she fell pregnant and he said to get rid
She made a decision, a decision so big
She would keep her baby and try to be strong
Be a good mum once the baby came along
The chance to be a father he chose not to take
Instead he did the unthinkable, her heart did break
He began to hit her with his child in the womb
She felt like her body had just left the room
Protecting her stomach she knew then it was gone
The love she poured onto him for so very long
It took time, willpower from mind, body and soul
Being a good mother her only true goal
Happiness as a friend took time to return
Forgetting to think about him she had to learn
Slowly her life began to fall into place
Looking in the mirror, a smile on her face
The person she once was has said all her goodbyes
Laughter replacing all her past silent cries

Writing has been my friend since a teenager...I laugh, cry, think, pretend, smile as I do it. I feel that I communicate better through my writing as in person I can appear a tad scatty.
