Left In The Dark

Left in the dark, the dungeons of old,
The tormented beasts of stories untold,
...The screams and the cries,
...the howls and goodbyes,
The darkness that is not empty,
Where fears rise unseen -
This is no nightmare...
...This is no dream.

Left in the dark, where the orchestra plays,
The music of terror and hell-sent ways,
He tip-toes closer, the dark in his face,
Knowing you've surrendered ...
....to the dark in this place,
Left in the dark, no-one close nor near,
All you are left with is your own special fears.
