You are an uncut diamond,
Left by the way side,
Treasured by no-one,
Yet twinkling inside,
Can I pick you up,
Polish your face,
Say, "we're not all bad,
The members of this race,"
Or should I walk past,
Just like all others,
Thinking more of friends,
Family and brothers,
Who are you to me,
A diamond left rough,
We all have to make do,
In a life that is tough,
So if I put out a hand,
To take instead of coins,
Or would you refuse, leering,
Still trying to sell your loins?
How did you like this story?
