The Underdogs

He's the poor man that you see sleeping on the streets
He's barely hanging on,
Cause he's got nothing to eat

He's the tattered little boy
Living in a third-world place
His pain is reflected on his dirt and tear-streaked face

She's the single teenage mom who's had to let go of all her dreams
She didn't mean for it to happen, but now she's got two mouths to feed

She's the depressed girl in the hospital who attempted suicide
She felt that life wasn't worth it,
And she wanted to die

All of these sad stories,
Filled with hardship, pain and woe
These poor helpless people,
Where can they go?

The odds have been stacked against them
Life has dealt them an unfair hand
We've been informed they'll never amount to anything,
Nothing big or grand

But who are these people?
The ones we watch stumble in the fog
They're the discriminated, the helpless, the broken
They are the underdogs.

No one thinks that they can make it,
And so they let them be
But the reality is, they COULD make it with some help from you and me

We need to change things for them,
We need to do our part
To alter their lives for the better
And give them a brand new start

So everyone join me to cheer for them,
We'll prove society wrong
I believe they can do it
Support the underdogs.

I don't have much to tell you. I'm Nat, I'm 15, and I'm ridiculously boring
